We shall have our lessons here
I have loved languages since I was a child. My favourite language at my early age of school was Swahili. I remember very well how I longed for the days in primary school when Swahili and English were on the timetable. I adored my language teachers very much. Growing up with three languages in the small village of Busia filled me with lots of pride. These three languages are Luhya, my mother tongue, Swahili, our national language and English, our official language in Kenya.
It is with great joy and enthusiasm that I am looking forward to giving you an insight into my favourite language, Swahili. Come for a mock lesson and I do promise you that after the that you will be in a position to form simple Swahili sentences.

This is what my Swahilli students say,
I am learning Swahili because I want to be able to communicate easily with the students on our continuing education project, "Wakina Mama na Watoto" in Tanzania. It is really nice to learn with Lucy because we can have conversations and small talk in Swahili very quickly. |
Lucy is a very authentic and refreshing instructor. Thanks to her positive nature, you immediately feel like you are in Kenya. Lucy not only taught me the language, but also the culture. This helped me a lot for my work in development aid. Asante sana dear Lucy!’ |
Learning Swahili with Lucy in a small group is not only successful, but also fun!
